Myths About Us
1. Creative Designs'
photographers are new to photography.
True, we have been in
the photography "business" only a few years. But we
(Cyndi and Shirley) are not youngsters to the business and customer service
world – we have years of experience working with people and
providing quality service. For each of us, personal photography has
been a passion for many years. We both received our photography
training at a top quality photography school (the New York
Institute of Photography) and have taken lots of additional
training from some of the best photographers around. We are
also members of several professional photographers’
organizations. In addition, we were in business together doing
web and graphic design for several years before we added
photography to our services and it became our main business.
2.
Creative Designs' photographers
only shoot “digital” and digital images are not as good.
As for
our digital work – we certainly don’t apologize for that –
digital photography and imaging is our passion and it’s the
wonder of our era . We absolutely love our computers and are
“geeks” when it comes to that. Our customers benefit from our
expertise at graphics and digital imaging software through our
great retouching and imaginative imaging techniques. We have
state of the art camera and software, but our vision and our
attention to detail is what sets us apart.
3.
Creative Designs is
expensive – it costs a fortune to go to them.
Certainly it’s not
a fortune to purchase our services and portraits. Our ala carte
pricing is up there, because we don’t want to just do a “few
great images” – we get carried away and do LOTS of great images
for you with many wonderful poses and backgrounds. We spend a
LOT of time with you and afterwards we work meticulously on
retouching your images before you see them. Our collection
pricing offers great savings and is flexible and creative – just
like us. Plan on spending from $350 to $900 on our regular and
senior sessions. We also offer special sessions and pricing
throughout the year that many of our regular customers take
advantage of.
4. Senior
portraits must come from the “school photographer”.
Not so, they
(the school contract photographers) would like to make you think that, but although schools
sometimes require you get your yearbook shot from the school
photographer, you can go elsewhere for the rest of your images
that are different. And we definitely provide “different”, a
different look, a different experience – why not have it all!
5. I’m not
photogenic and hate having my pictures taken, so my pictures
will look awful.
Wow what a bunch of baloney! We don’t believe
in that stuff. We think everyone has their particular type of
beauty and our photography goal is to find that beauty and show
it in our images. We use creative lighting and posing in a fun,
relaxed way to create special images for you – images that you
can treasure for a lifetime.
6. High
School Seniors take showers at our studio!
Uh, no, we do
create the "Wet Hair" images but the seniors are fully clothed
and we use towels and a little water sprayer to dampen their
hair for these images. And it's not just for girls, guys
like our "Sweaty Jock" images too.
